Shanmu River, located in the southeast of Guizhou province, is famous for white water rafting. Its crystal clear waters, beautiful sightseeing and fresh air attract tourists from home and aboard.
The 44-kilometer-long river was rediscovered in 1995 by a local man returning back home. The man recalled his childhood when he would put firewood in the river and let the rapids carry it downstream. He explored the river based on his memories.

According to local residents, the water comes from deep underground and can be drunk directly. Therefore, it is also known as the “Mineral River”.
The rafting course is more than 20 kilometers long and takes about 3 hours to finish. The deepest part of the water is about 1.3 meters.
